For years, Americans have unknowingly been drinking water contaminated with toxic chemicals found in everyday goods like nonstick pans and dental floss.
And because these chemicals — called perfluoroalkyl and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) — are found in high concentrations in the firefighting foam used by the military to battle jet-fuel fires, families on military bases are at especially high risk.
Despite their knowledge of the horrifying health problems associated with PFAS (birth defects, advanced-stage cancers, thyroid disorders), EPA officials have argued that bringing water systems to healthy levels would be too expensive.
Tell the EPA: No more delays!
Provide safe drinking water for military service personnel and their families.
