As President, Trump has the final word on security clearances in the White House. And that should make us VERY WORRIED.

Consider the case of Jared Kushner, Donald Trump’s son-in-law. Recently, we learned that national security professionals in the White House personnel office viewed Kushner as too much of a security risk to be given a "top-secret" security clearance. In particular, they had concerns about Kushner's personal conduct, business interests and vulnerability to foreign influence.

But Trump overruled the experts and ordered a top-secret clearance for Kushner. In other words, the President was all too happy to put highly classified intelligence into the hands of a suspected security risk.

Rather than protect the American family, Trump is just looking out for his own family. It's wrong and it's dangerous.
