Federal law protects people from discrimination based on race, color, religion, national origin, sex, age, ability, and veteran status.
But there's no federal law barring discrimination based on sexual orientation and gender identity.
That means LGBTQIA+ Americans are threatened by unjust firings, evictions, and other discrimination without any legal recourse.
Even worse: In 2018, the Trump administration rolled back already-limited protections and introduced harmful policies that further marginalized vulnerable populations nationwide.
Action is overdue. Sign the petition and tell Congress to protect LGBTQIA+ Americans now.
