William Perry Pendley spent 40 years undermining federal public lands protections (the Clean Water Act, Endangered Species Act, the National Environmental Policy Act, and more) as an extremist anti-environment lawyer.
Last year, Donald Trump appointed Pendley to oversee 250 million acres of federal lands – or approximately 10% of the United States – as Acting Director of the Bureau of Land Management. In the months since then, Pendley has worked to open up millions of acres of our public lands to logging, mining, and fossil fuel interests.
Now, Trump has nominated Pendley to be the full-time Director of the Bureau of Land Management, so he can continue selling our public lands to special interests. The Senate cannot let that happen.
