Our country’s housing crisis is preventing working and middle class families in the U.S. from accessing affordable housing. Too many are forced to work multiple jobs and make tremendous sacrifices – just so they can have a roof over their heads.

What can be done about it?

Senate Bill 787 would provide loan assistance and grants for communities previously targeted by segregation and redlining. It would support local communities, bringing mortgage assistance to communities that have historically been denied. And it fights discrimination by expanding the rights of Americans under the Fair Housing Act.

We can create millions of affordable housing units, all paid for by a common-sense reform to our nation's unfair estate tax system, which currently benefits the wealthiest 1% of Americans.

It’s time for fairness. It’s time for more affordable housing options across America. Urge Congress to pass Senate Bill 787 right away.
